Pengaruh Konsentrasi NaOH dan Kecepatan Pengadukan Terhadap Kualitas Sabun Padat dari VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil)

The raw materials used in this study are VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) and NaOH as alkali. VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) is a high-quality natural oil obtained from fresh coconut milk which can function to soften the skin, increase penetration, moisturizer and accelerate healing on the skin. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of NaOH concentration and stirring speed on the quality of soap from VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) so that it can obtain solid soap that complies with SNI standards and does not irritate the skin. The independent variables used in this study were the concentration of 5% NaOH, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% and the stirring speed of 300 rpm, 400 rpm, 500 rpm. The manufacture of solid soap is done by a cold process with the main hand blender. The results showed that the NaOH concentration that produced SNI-based soap, ie 15% and 20% NaOH concentration and the best soap based on SNI was obtained on the use of 15% NaOH concentration and stirring speed of 500 rpm with a water content of 9.80%, pH 10.15 and foam height of 9.5 cm. Sabun merupakan hasil hidrolisa asam lemak dan basa. Peristiwa ini dikenal dengan peristiwa saponifikasi. Bahan baku yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) dan NaOH sebagai alkali. VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) merupakan minyak alamiah berkualitas tinggi yang diperoleh dari santan kelapa segar yang dapat berfungsi untuk melembutkan kulit, peningkat penetrasi, moisturizer dan mempercepat penyembuhan pada kulit. Tujuan dari kajian ini yaitu menganalisis pengaruh konsentarsi NaOH dan kecepatan pengadukan terhadap kualitas sabun dari VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) sehingga diperoleh sabun padat yang sesuai standar SNI dan tidak mengiritasi kulit. Variabel bebas yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu konsentrasi NaOH 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25% dan kecepatan pengadukan 300 rpm, 400 rpm, 500 rpm. Pembuatan sabun padat ini dilakukan dengan proses dingin dengan alat utama hand blender. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Konsentrasi NaOH yang menghasilkan sabun yang sesuai SNI, yaitu konsentrasi NaOH 15% dan 20% dan sabun terbaik berdasarkan SNI diperoleh pada penggunaan konsentrasi NaOH 15% dan kecepatan pengadukan 500 rpm dengan kadar air 9,80%, pH 10,15 dan tinggi busa 9,5 cm.References
