Produksi Biogas Dari Sampah Organik Dengan Tambahan Air Kelapa Tua Menggunakan Bio-Digester Sebagai Energi Alternatif

Biogas adalah gas yang dihasilkan oleh fermentasi bahan organik dalam kondisi anaerob, yang berarti tanpa oksigen. Proses ini terjadi secara alami di lingkungan seperti rawa-rawa, tetapi dapat direkayasa dalam reaktor biogas. Bahan baku utama untuk produksi biogas meliputi limbah organik seperti kotoran ternak, sisa makanan, dan limbah pertanian. Komponen utama biogas adalah metana (CH4) dan karbon dioksida (CO2). Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara memeprsiapkan bahan seperti sampah organic pasar, air kelapa tua, serta starter berupa kotoran sapi, dengan perbandingan sampah organic dan kotoran sapi yaitu (40:60, 50:50, dan 60:40). Penelitian dilakukan selama 30 hari dengan melihat hasil maksimalnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kadar gas methane terbesar terdapat pada reaktor 2 sebesar 41,33%. sedangkan kadar gas methane terendah terdapat pada reaktor 1 sebesar 38,84% uji nyala api yang telah dilkukan menunjukan untuk keseluruhan nyala api berwarna orange. Yang dimana warna tersebut menandakan masi terdapat banyaknya gas pengotor didalamnya.
